Couldn't we just post a direct link to Jack Thomas here? He has all this info in his head...
Hi, Hope to see everyone for our 25 year reunion on July 30, 2005! Invitations will be sent out in April. If you have any questions, please e-mail the reunion committee at.
If I was a wiz at this computer stuff like Dave and Mike, I would scan the following, but you'll have to settle for my typing: The 4th All-Class Reunion will be held on July 2, 2005. The reunion will be held at the RLHS athletic field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a short program at 1 p.m. Signs posting the year of graduation will be on the field. The concession stand will be open. I believe Jack Thomas is heading this up. If you can make it that would be great! Let's try to get a good turnout from the Class of 1980!
Thanks to Dave and Mike for getting this website up and running. I can't express enough how happy I am to see this come together. Again, great job guys and to all those who have had a hand in bringing the Class of 1980 website together. See you all at the reunion in July.
Thanks for the great web site Dave and Mike, maybe it will encourage me to learn how to use our computer. Linda, you know I don't know how to email so I will use this forum to ask if we have a planned activity for Friday night before the reunion? I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.
We should try to have a get-together Friday night for those who are interested. It could just be as easy as meeting somewhere, and everyone pays his or her own way. Any ideas on a location? We could check with Brian & Joanne Skar about meeting at Mr. Bob's. Or would people like to get together and have a Drag's pizza? Please leave a comment as to your preference.
The invitations are going out in the mail this week. If you don't receive yours by April 15 please e-mail email@example.com and we will send one out to you ASAP. We still have a list of classmates that we are having trouble locating. If you have addresses for any of the following please send them to the above e-mail address: David Blechinger, Doug Broome, Bill Musolf, Christy Nahkala, Jane Ousley, Jim Schnacky, Tim Strangeway, Donovan Wiess, Carole Winegar, Connie Lindemann, Michael Lindner, Lori Palmer, Richard Prill, and Denise Wold. Thanks!
Here's hoping for a good weather and a good turnout.
I'm on the phone right now, with Mr. Mike Conley, and he told me about this great website. Thanks Dave and Mike for the work on this. I'm looking forward to checking this out from time to time. Can it really be 25 years..wow, can't believe it. We would probably be able to afford the Little River Band for a little music on Friday or Saturday night..of course they may all be 70 something years old now.
Nice web site Mike and Dave, but is my picture going to be the first thing I see everytime I log on?? Thanks!!! Maybe a foolish question...are children invited to attend with parents, and if so is anyone going to bring their children to the reunion??
To answer Carrie's question about children being invited - sorry, but this is an adult only event. We discussed all of the different types of events we could hold, and decided on a laid back get together for classmates only - and their spouse / guest. If anyone wants to plan a picnic or some type of get together for the whole family on Sunday, for example, you are welcome to do so. I hope this is OK with everyone. It was the definite sentiment among the committee and other class members that we informally talked to.
I think the website is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Thank you to Dave & Mike for creating it. I think this will be a great way to get more classmates interested in attending the 25 year. It worked for me. A big thank you to you Linda for always being so faithful in planning the reunions. You're wonderful. I'm trying to get into the "Where are they now" area but it's not opening. Is it up and running yet, or am I doing something wrong? To the web lackeys Dave & Mike, if I find the time I'd like to get some pics from the 20 year on the website. Would that be okay? If not, no worries. Colleen Moe, Kris Whetsel, Carol Shimon, Kathy Plucar, Mike Neil, Jim Neil, Renee Bungartz, if you're reading this, HELLO!
Dave and Mike are working on the links, and they are all active now. Please send pictures from high school and any of the reunions to Dave's e-mail. (There are links to his e-mail various places on the website).
Wow! It is so wild to see all of your names and faces again! I didn't make it to the 20 Year, but I am making every effor to get home this time. Now my question is... What happened to the last 25 years?!?!? Oh, and I think you need to make this a secure site so NO ONE ELSE CAN SEE THESE PICTURES!!
... I'm talking about the old pictures, of course. What was up with my glasses?
Kudos Dave and Mike! This website is so much fun-what a great idea. I laughed out loud when I read the music list! It brought back a flood of memories. Linda, thank you for all your planning efforts. I will be there for the reunion and can't wait to see everyone. Friday night pizza sounds fun but can we do it at your house? Just kidding! See you in July...
I appreciate the thank yous, but just want to say that this reunion is a total group effort! We have such a dedicated, hard-working, fun reunion committee! It never feels overwhelming for any one person, because everyone chips in. The committee consists of Anna Rahm Angell, Kathy Dvorak Weber, Joan Kinnick Kahl, Patty Flach Reiten, Kevin Reinke, and Sheila Wescott Loew. Any classmate is always welcome to join in! Just contact any of the above names, or send an e-mail to the reunion committee link on this page.
Great website, but could you delete my picture off and replace it with say...Teri Hatcher? Just kidding! I find it amazing how much has changed since we've graduated! Who would have thought there could be this great website back in 1980. Since, I'm coming a long way, it would be great to get everyone together on Friday night also. It doesn't seem like there was enough time to catch up, with only Saturday night's reunion. See everyone soon! jh
Hey Everyone! Great site Dave & Mike! Hope you are all doing well. It really is fun to look at the photos and see you all here writing in this space. It's been so long. I'm looking forward to seeing you all this summer - I've always just missed being in RL for the reunions by a few days. Would love to hear what you're all up to!
Great website Dave and Mike. So Linda where you do you find the time to do all this organizing? Thanks to all committe members for your time. Oh by the way I'm all for the Drags Pizza!!!
Hello to the Class of 1980. What a great idea! I've already been able to contact two friends I haven't seen in years!! Thank you to everyone who is putting this together - where would we be without volunteers! A big hand to them all!
Oh thank you all... for this great website and all the work on the reuion. So much fun to remember when!!! I can't believe it's been 25 years and this site makes it seem like only yesterday :-) Tammy hello to you too .... and to others-- hoping to see you at the reunion.
Like others who looked at the music list, I laughed out loud when I saw it! If you can't wait for the CD and have satellite (TV or radio), check out the '70s channel/station - although I haven't heard Meatloaf yet, it's still a nice stroll down memory lane!
What a surprise to see my picture on the front page of the web site! This is fun! It sure bring back memories! I would love to see Tim Swant again. I'll try and make it. Love you all, Sue
Hi, it's realy great to see how this page is growing - more and more pictures and comments. Thank you to all of the team.
HI EVERYBODY FROM OUR CLASS OF 1980, THANKS TO DAVE CHARRON AND MIKE CONELY AND THE INTERNET WE CAN NOW KEEP IN TOUCH AND KNOW WHERE WE ARE AT. SOMETIMES IT SEEMS LIKE ONLY YESTERDAY THAT WE ALL WERE TRAVELING THE HALLWAYS OF RICE LAKE SENIOR HIGH BUT THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO FIND OUT WHERE ARE LONG LOST CLASSMATES ARE AT. ANYWAYS I WILL LEAVE YOU MY NEW EMAIL ADDRESS, IF I DON'T ANSWER BACK RIGHT AWAY IS BECAUSE I GOT BUSY AND SIDETRACKED BUT BEAR WITH ME I WILL GET BACK TO YOU. I WILL TRY HARD TO MAKE THIS REUNION SO UNTIL THAN TAKE CARE.
This is great! Wow, memories. Can't wait to see everyone on 7/30! P.S. Rick, I think the glasses are great.
Thanks to you Mark Tollander for the Little River Band memory. I hadn't thought about them for quite some time. But now I've had "Lady" stuck in my head for two days. It kinda feels good to remember everything that went along with that song back in "80".
Thanks Dave and Mike for putting up this site and all involved on the planning committee!!! Lot of work. Talked to Brian and Joanie Skar this weekend and thought it would be great to get together at Mr. Bob's on Friday night. They mentioned opening the Silver Dollar for a private party and ordering Drag's later in the evening. Brian say's he has era music to play on the dance floor as the original 33's came with the bar. Forgot to ask if he had an 8-track player?
Hi Everyone! Just a reminder to please send in your registration form and payment ASAP! We need to receive them by July 1 so we can plan for the number of people attending and get the booklet processed. If you have registered online you still need to print out the form and send it in with your payment. Has everyone checked out the stories that Dave has posted? How about the articles from the sit-in?! Please send Dave some more photos also! If you have any questions on the reunion, please e-mail me or the reunion committee. Hope to see you on July 30!
How are the registrations going? Am anxious to get back to Rice Lake and see everyone. Sounds like we'll be going out on Friday night, too? And Drag's Pizza . . . can't wait!
Hello everyone, look forward to seeing you all at the reunion. It is hard to beleive that twenty-five years has passed since we walked the halls at good old R.L.H.S.
I was reading the memorial section of the website. How sad that to have lost five of us already. What happened?
It's not too late to sign up for the reunion! Just fill out the registration either online or on paper and send it in with your check ASAP! Anna talked to Joanie Skar and confirmed that they would like us to have a gathering at Mr. Bob's on Friday night, July 29 starting at 7:00 p.m. This is not part of the "official" reunion - just an informal gathering. For those of you craving a Drag's pizza, maybe we can order some to be delivered or go to Drag's later in the evening. The All-Class Reunion was held on Saturday, July 2. The 70's, 80's, to current were poorly represented, while the 60's and prior had a good turnout. It is a great idea, and those of us who did attend had a good time! Lots of fun stories! To respond to Sheri's question about our deceased classmates, sadly, Randy D., Joe S., and Tom Snyder committed suicide, and Bob S. and Tom Meyers died in car accidents.
Hello to all class of 1980. Ill be there for shore. Looking foword seeing everyone. I love this site also.
Tb help you all put perspective on what it means to have graduated 25 years ago....we had a babysitter watch our daughter today while I prepare for my trip to the reunion. She just graduated and is heading for college. Wade and I were discussion how old we probably seem to her. We realized it was like us in 1980 talking to someone who graduated in 1955! yikes!!!! See y'all soon and safe travels.
Hi to all! I have enjoyed reading all the comments. After 25 years it's amazing how quickly the memories come back. I have a commitment that wont allow me to make the reunion. All is well in Winona, MN. Married (23) years with two greats kids. Heidi 20 and Sarah 17. Thanks for all your efforts in making this site and the reunion. Take care Dave
For those of us that haven't done the bars in RL for twenty plus years were is Mr. Bob's
It was so great to see all the classmates. Kudos to the reunion com. and whoever put this together! Sure glad there was name tags, or I'd still be confused... Hopefully the class picture will show up here (and have names?) Wished I could have stayed longer. Can't wait 'till the 50th! (no hurry)
What a great time! Thank you to everyone who attended our 25th class reunion! It was so wonderful to see everyone and catch up on your current lives and reminisce about the old days! Also, a huge thank you to Kathy, Anna, Patty, Joan, Kevin, and Sheila for all of the time and energy you put into making the reunion a success!
Kudos to all who helped put a great night together! Linda, Patty, Kathy, Kevin, Sheila, Joan~your efforts are greatly appreciated! Mike and Dave, this website rocks! How fun to surf and read on late nights when one can't sleep! I've added it to "my favorties" as I'll forget how to get here if I didn't! So fun to see and chat with so many of you last night! Next reunion, even larger print. I was borrowing my "readers" to everyone!! :) Best wishes to you all until we meet again!!
I didn't attend Saturday, but it was awesome to see everyone on Friday night. What a great group of people, and fun memories! Godspeed until the next one...
It was so great to see everyone at the reunion! The committee did a fantastic job! Thank you. I am so glad I made the trip up this time. It was well worth the 15 hour drive. By the way, I wish I knew your secrets, but Charlotte Thome, Shari Siewart, Charlotte Saffert, Kevin Reinke and Melody Sheldon win the prize for NOT AGING A BIT! How do you do it?
To Linda, Anna, Kathy, Joan, Patty, Kevin, and Sheila: Thanks so much for organizing the reunion as well as the gatherings at Drags and Mr. Bob's (thanks Brian and Joanne)on Friday night. The class of '80 is lucky to have you all running the show.
Hi ALL - I'm sad to be leaving. My family and I are now ready to cross the Mackinaw Bridge-it's beautiful especially at night. Just finished a big breakfast - Yup I still love to eat but have to exercise to try to stay healthy. It's a 16 hr drive w/ about 6 to go. After the reunion I lay awake till 6:00 a.m. thinking about everyone and what wonderful, friendly people you all are. See you all again and everyone stay happy & healthy.
The reunion was great! A big "thank you" to all responsible (you know who you are). I really enjoyed the casual, relaxed surroundings. I put my vote in to duplicate everything for the next reunion (except perhaps larger name tags and we may need more elderly parking spots). Great to see and chat with everyone. I hope we can use this excellent website to keep in touch. P.S. What was up with Mike Wilcox? Does he always act like that? (....long story (or shall I say "short story" for anyone who was not at the reunion)
I'd like to see this awesome website continued indefinitely . . . which brings me back to saying thank you again to Dave for hosting, setting up, and maintaining this website, and thank you to Mike for helping with the set up and content! Anyone who ended up with some good pictures of the reunion should e-mail them to Dave so he could post them. Also, keep sharing the stories!
Check out the pictures that Dave has posted under "Photos" on your left. Click on 25 year reunion, then you can click on each picture individually to bring it up. Dave, if there is a better or easier way to do this, please post it on here, for those of us who aren't lackeys! (It takes my computer a few seconds to bring up each picture). Thanks Dave - what fun pictures! P.S. Who is the girl with the wet pants and beer bottle? Was she a "crasher"?
Wow what a great time.Screw 5 years we should have a reunion every year! It was really cool seeing all those classmates again after all those years ,Even though some faces were'nt familiar ,I apologize. To all those I did'nt get a chance to chat with, next time.To Janet Texley if I knew you were a LEO I definitely would have chatted with you ,the police are the first line of defense for the public and I commend all LEO's for that .We could have discussed the ballistic coeficients of our favorite sidearms HA! To Shari Siewert, even though I had'nt seen you in at least 15 years I recognized you right away on friday night ,It must be your eyes,When I see you again sometime ,if for some reason you are wearing colored contacts ,were having words young lady. Can't wait for the next reunion in 2010. Stay safe everyone and If your in Rice Lake stop by and pull up a camp stool, figureativly speaking ,I'd say the coffee's always on ,but I don't drink coffee , so you'll have to settle for some tasty venison products Thanks to the reunion committee See ya later!!
Hey, Mike Wilcox was bothering me too. Does he have to be invited next year. ha ha. Hint...never leave your name tag with someone else when leaving a class reunion. I am not a 1980 graduate, but I had the best time at your reunion. Thanks for everyone that put it together.
I would like to express my apologies to all the classmates I accosted during our 25th year class reunion. Even though I was only in attendance for a very SHORT period of time I also had a very good time. It was LONG enough for some of you and I know you all enjoyed the experience as much as I did. One thing I would like to clear up is, Iím not gay! I will not miss our 30th class reunion and I will try stick around longer. Special thanks to the Eau Claire County Sheriffs Department for giving me a 2-hour pass so I could attend. I would also like to thank Rod Stearns for filling in for me and I hope he/we didnít jerk your chain too much and if he did I donít think he is sorry but I am. Thanks to everyone for a great time. Till the next time see yaaaaaaaaaa!
Isn't like Mike Wilcox to try and get out of the mess he got himself into. He dated so much in high school that many of the ladies did not know they even dated him. That is because it only lasted one night due to his small mind and shallow thoughts. Mike you still rock and all the ladies loved you that night...apologies are not necessary.
I just watched the video that was produced for the 20th reunion. What a blast from the past? There were pictures in there from junior high! It must have taken a lot of work to compile all of those photos and put them all together, but it was well worth it. Thank you, Linda, for sending it to me. See you all in 5 years!
Anyone still checking this site? I finally found the invitation... I am alive an living in Richmond VA and would love to trade a few emails...
Hi everyone, I had a great time at the reunion on Fri and Sat nights. My "new friends" do not understand my passion for our reunions and were surprised at how late I stayed out both nights. We have a special class and have great memories so it is wonderful to reminisce and catch up with each other. Thank you to the committee for all the hard work and to Brian and Joanne for hosting us once again. I vote for the same place and format next reunion. Everyone stay safe and healthy and lets all get back together!
Hey y'all, I just recently got back from a 5 day mission trip to New Orleans where we helped with a relief center and helped a church get their school ready to open. It was a very humbling experience. I've seen terrible tornado damage (May 3, 1999), but you just can't imagine the scope of the hurricane damage until you get there and see it in person and talk to people who have lost everything. Please thank God for what you have because everyone of us is blessed more than we know. I was also encouraged by the attitude of most of the people we talked to. Most of them said versions of "it's just stuff, but our family is safe." That was very inspiring. I just wanted to share my experience, not to brag on myself but to make sure everyone knows how good most of us have it. Thanks,
Hi everyone who made it to the 25th year class reunion, it was good to see everybody after all those years, especially those of us who had to look hard at the name "tag" to remember the person, like I had to do...but now I know it will be easier to remember everyone. It was fun Iam glad I made it. To my good friends Troy P.,Tony G.,Jon P., it was good to talk to you guys after all those years, and all those others I talk to that I didn't remember anyways drop me a line when you get a chance, sometimes its better to call me than e-mail me because I don't get to them very often. Thanks to all who put this reunion together, and hope to see you all again and more classmates at the next Reunion. PS. To all who e-mail my new address is: firstname.lastname@example.org Take Care, God Bless You All...
